How This App Came to Be

💡

How it started.

AI is helpful and smart. At some point, chatting with AI became a habit.

One night, I opened an AI app in bed. ...But that night, I just didn't have the energy to type.

Watched some short videos. Eyes wide awake now. Opened social media. Someone was arguing. Got curious. Read it all.

Got sucked in. Didn't sleep much that night.

Regretted it the next day. This kept happening.

Then it hit me.

Something to pass time before bed. But not too stimulating. Maybe that's what I need.

🤔

Trial and error.

AI can write cozy stories for me. But typing is a lot of work.

"Voice input! No typing needed." Tried it. Talking to my phone in bed... felt a bit awkward.

"What about cat pictures?" Relaxing. Cute. Love it. More. ...Wide awake again.

"Let me read some news. Calm ones only." There was almost no calm news.

"Maybe I should just make something myself."

🔨

Let's make it.

So I started.

Things didn't work. But I kept going. Little by little. Slowly, it took shape.

One thing at a time. Thinking of the people who'd use it.

Maybe this way is better. Or maybe that way.

...Lots of little decisions.

What I made.

This app.

Open it, and AI has little stories ready for you. Tap if curious. No keyboard.

Just browse if you want. Tap for a bit more. When you're sleepy, just sleep.

Zero typing.

Zero overstimulation.

Nothing upsetting.

"An app you can open before bed, without worry." That's all I had in mind. ...Sleep matters, after all.

If you've read this far and like what you see, maybe share it with someone who can't sleep at night.

...if you feel like it.

Thank you.
